Tali at Kalkuda by Maisie Ward

This painting depicts the tali (sandhills) and kapi (rockholes) at Kalkuda. Kalkuda is located in the bush, west of Tjukurla and close to Lake Anec in Western Australia. This is the country of Maisie’s Grandmother, Tanara Napanangka. Maisie was passed down this story from her grandmother who taught her how to paint it. In this country, they make damper out of a crushed native seed called Wanganu.
