Description

This beautiful bag comes in Keturah Zimran’s Puli Puli Fabric, printed in silver and peach ink. The fabric was hand-printed at Publisher Textiles in Sydney then beautifully crafted by fair trade partners Kravan House, Cambodia as part of our collaboration with Flying Fox Fabrics.

H: 25 cm/10 inches, W: 25 cm/10 inches, Base: 16 cm/6.25 inches. Sweet and stylish crossbody bag with oval base and adjustable strap – a very practical size.

Kravan House have been operating for more than 16 years from a shopfront in Riverside Kravan House was one of Cambodia’s first social enterprises. After war and instability left the country with limited infrastructure and few manufacturers it took a long time for any industries to establish, let alone employ disabled people. Kravan House was founded by Mrs Thanan Hok in 2003 to provide training and employment opportunities to women and men people who are disabled due to landmines, polio and other physical challenges.

Fair Trade: #whomadeyourbag – Mr Run Cheak and his wife make the small and large messenger bags. They have been working for social enterprise Kravan House for more than 15 years. Mr Run Cheak was a farmer who stepped on a landmine in 1993. At Kravan House he retrained as an artisan which has given him good steady income and he has become a master craftsman.

Publisher Textiles & Papers in Sydney is one of Australia’s leading print houses. Focused on producing original patterns through traditional hand-screen printing methods they create bold and colourful textiles, hand printed wallpaper, clothing and fabric.

Because all of these beautiful pieces are individually made from hand-screen printed fabric, the pattern on each bag may vary slightly.

These bags come in a variety of fabric design; please consult the fabric design guide below.

I am a huge fan of this Ikuntiji Artists and cannot get enough of their artwork. My sofa is covered in their cushions and a blanket and I now have three artworks on my walls. The art centre is also great to deal with. You won't be disappointed if you choose to support this not-for-profit art centre.

I was given a metre of Rockholes fabric as a present but it was too beautiful to cut up! I had it stretched on a frame and now it hangs in our hallway. The lively colours and shapes make me happy whenever I walk past.
