Ancestral Presence – recent works by Ikuntji Artists

Ended — at Central Craft

Alice Nampitjinpa: Rockholes and Tali Tali 2015, diptych 30x30 cm Acrylic on Linen

Since its beginnings in 1992 Ikuntji Artists have striven to capture in manifold ways their Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) stories. Three different generations of artists are working alongside each other at the art centre, creating works that evoke ancestral presences in ngurra (country). In this exhibition Ikuntji Artists showcases the innovative and new directions artists from Ikuntji/Haasts Bluff have created in the most recent months. Paintings are coupled with explorations into design and fashion.
