From Country to Couture 2020
Ended
Ikuntji Artists are proud to be part of this years ‘From Country to Couture’ event, which will showcase our collaborative Ikuntji X Magpie Goose collection. The collection features designs by Alice Nampitjinpa Dixon, Keturah Zimran, Eunice Napanangka Jack, Mavis Marks and Mitjili Napurrula.
Country to Couture is back in 2020!
Ending the year in style, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair’s (DAAF) annual fashion event will return to Darwin on 3 December with an exclusive local showcase, followed by an exciting debut in Melbourne in early 2021 which will be paired with a digital broadcast, set to reach audiences far and wide!
Part of DAAFF’s Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP), the showcase of Indigenous textile and fashion design is a popular staple on the Darwin calendar, Country to Couture has been a key attraction alongside (DAAF) since 2016. The impact of COVID-19 saw DAAF innovate with a digital event in 2020, and Country to Couture has also had its own change of scene!
The lineup this year features collections from across Australia including work from: Ngali (featuring artist Lindsay Malay from Warmun Art Centre), Warlukurlangu Aboriginal Corporation, Anindilyakwa Arts, Ikuntji Artists, Liandra Swim and Bima Wear. These include unique collaborations with labels North, Magpie Goose, and Nobody Denim.
