This funky piece of wearable art is part of our collaboration with Publisher Textiles. Each pair is printed and made in Australia!

From the makers "The cute wide leg culottes take their name from the 60’s stunner and inspiration behind the song Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones, Marsha Hunt. Featuring an elastic back, zip and button closure and generous side pockets, they are perfect for everyday wear. Team them with a pair of heals and cropped top for effortless party look.

Mavis is an accomplished Luritja Pintupi artist; born at Newhaven, 360km North West of Mpwartne (Alice Springs). She has been widely exhibited around Australia and the world. She enjoys traveling to Kintore to visit with her sister Yuyuwa; and to Alice Springs to see her sister Gina. Mavis moved to Haasts Bluff as a teenager with her mother. Mavis likes to paint the women’s Ceremonial Dancing at Mt Liebig and the story given to her by her grandfather of Kalipinpa, the Water Dreaming, which comes from her mother’s side. In this design, Mavis depicts women’s business. She paints the women’s ceremonial dancing at Mt Liebig, close to where she was born and where she has lived most of her life.
Hand printed in our studio in Leichhardt as a 1 colour print on navy 100% cotton voile.
Treat this handmade garment with love and it will love you back! Cold hand wash, drip dry in shade, warm iron. Avoid the tumble dryer and dry cleaner.

Being handmade there may be some print variations, making each garment unique."

Model wears is 14 and is 175cm tall.

Please be aware when purchasing clothing, we do not offer a refund for change of mind. As we and our manufacturing partners, Publisher Textiles are still ironing out the kinks in production there may be some inconsistencies in details given and the finished product (sizing guides and base fabrics are the main culprits). During this period we are happy to offer a refund or exchange for items that do not match the description given. Once things are running smoothly we will no longer offer refunds and will only be able to offer an exchange or store credit for clothing purchases.
Please also be aware we are not able to offer refunds or reimbursements for postage costs.

FAQ

Yes, we have sent Ikuntji artwork to almost every corner of the world and regularly make the 3 hour trip from our home in Haast Bluff to our closest post office. Depending on the size of the package and destination, we will ship via Australia Post or Startrack. We take care in safety wrapping every piece of artwork for shipping. All packages are sent with signature required on arrival and tracking details sent to you via email at dispatch.

Due to Australian wide shipping delays and the possibility of bad weather on local roads at all times of the year. Delivery times may take longer what is estimated on Australia Post or Startrack websites. Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing something from a remote community. Our minimum wait time for delivery is one week after your item is purchased but this can be longer. You will receive an email once your item has dispatched from the local post office.

Yes, you get a Certificate of Authenticity showing an image of the artwork, artwork code and the story depicted if supplied. This is sent automatically with every artwork as a digital copy to your chosen email.

Yes, we can issue you with a new Certificate of Authenticity. This costs $55 per new Certificate of Authenticity.

All artworks are quoted and sold on an unstretched basis expect for those noted as pre-stretched in the materials section. Upon request we can sell artworks stretched/framed, this will incur an additional fee and will need to be paid for prior to sending. Please email us for any pre-stretching enquiries – studio@ikuntji.com.au
