Anmanari Nolan's design on this fabric depicts Kungkayunti - the place where the ancestral Arrernte women came to rest after travelling from Ntaria (Hermannsburg) to Kintore. There they danced, shared their stories and renewed their law. The women turned into stone and can still be seen today. Kungkayunti means women dancing.
Anmanari was born in 1944 at Yateman's Bore and travelled east with her family during the drought of the early 1940s. She was a powerful law woman, highly regarded for her painting skills. She passed away in 2019. Her designs continue to live on in every piece that carries her name.
