Back Stage at Country to Couture 2023

Country to Couture returned to Larrakia Country this August with a record 22 collections across two sold out runaways.

Selected to take part in the annual event of First Nations textiles and fashion design for Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF), Ikuntji Artists showcased our newest collection in the second runway.

Featured were bold designs in vibrant colours by Roseranna Larry, Walter Jugadai, Mitjili Napurrula, Mavis Marks, Doreen Lane, Lisa Multa, Alison Napurrula Multa, and Virgilia Multa. The collection was a blend of traditional art and contemporary fashion through power suits, casual separates and ballgowns. We hope this collection will foster a deeper connection with Indigenous art and empower individuals to incorporate it into their everyday lives.
