IOTA24: Tjukurrpa on Fabrics
Ended — at Holmes à Court Gallery
In 2024, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial (IOTA) will be presented across multiple venues where visitors can experience significant installations from all over the world. Exhibition partners Fremantle Arts Centre and John Curtin Gallery will again stage the international exhibition at the heart of the Triennial, and in 2024 are joined by Holmes à Court Gallery.
We are proud to reveal that Ikuntji Artists will be represented at the Holmes à Court Gallery, at Vasse Felix in Margaret River with 24 fabric pieces, showing 8th September – 20th October, 2024. Tjukurrpa on Fabrics is a display of twenty-four textile pieces from twelve artists which highlight the traditional Dreamings and the ever evolving re-telling of each family’s story.
In complement, the conference, public program and satellite festival of exhibitions and events will amplify the theme of ‘Codes in Parallel’ presenting a broad diversity of craft practices by Western Australian-based and Indian Ocean artists at other major institutions, artist-run collectives, regional galleries, local government arts facilities, and in craft-specific workshops and studios.
