Doreen Lane's design on this fabric depicts a childhood memory - jumping in the back of a ute with her family and travelling from Papunya to Ulumbauru, a beautiful place with a dam for swimming. Doreen was the daughter of Maudie Jugadai and Phillip Lane, and the granddaughter of Timothy Jugadai Tjungurrayi, a founding member of Ikuntji Artists who painted at Papunya Tula since the 1970s.
Everyone jumped on the back of the truck and drove out sitting on the tray to go swimming. We had a fun time there.
A fluid blend of Tencel and linen - lighter and softer than pure linen, with a gentle drape and a smooth, cool hand. 70% Tencel, 30% linen, 145cm wide, 172gsm.
