The contribution made by our volunteers is greatly valued, and their work is essential to the running of Ikuntji Artists. The generous donation of time, effort and skill our volunteers bring is of great assistance to the art centre.

Priming and stretching canvases, basic colour theory, mixing and preparing paints, hanging pictures and art shows.
General computer skills and IT knowledge.
Graphic design skills and experience.
Curatorial, museum or gallery background.
Art history, art theory, or anthropology degree.
A visual arts qualification or background.
Experience in community work.
Volunteers and interns are only taken by prior arrangement, and must have specific skills and expertise needed at the time.
Volunteers must be available for a minimum of three weeks.

July 2014, ten weeks. A National Art School graduate who won the Aboriginal Art Centre Internship award; stretched and primed canvases, mixed paints, helped set up the art centre’s website and mailing list.
August 2014. Came through the University of Western Australia after a semester studying Contemporary Aboriginal Art in their Art History degree.
2013, eight weeks. Funded through the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) as a Master of Arts anthropology student at Freiburg University; worked across studio, office, sales and renovations.
2013, ten weeks. A practising artist, placed through The National Art School’s Aboriginal Art Centre Internship program.
October 2019, four weeks. Came to Haasts Bluff after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Visual Art in 2018, to gain professional experience in contemporary Aboriginal art.
