This Audrey top by Walter Jugadai depicts the Star and Shield Tjukurrpa - his grandfather's Dreaming, passed down to him from his grandfather whose Country is Yarapilangu, near New Haven, north-west of Papunya. Walter was born in Alice Springs in 1983 and grew up at Haasts Bluff, learning to paint from members of the Namatjira family. He has represented Ikuntji Artists in Korea, Germany and Switzerland and has served as a director of Ikuntji Artists and Desart Inc.
This is my secretive tradition men's story which tells of events which happen at a place called Yarapilangu, near New Haven, north-west of Papunya. I got this story from my grandfather.
