Keturah Zimran OAM's design on this fabric depicts the puli puli (rocks) at two Country sites: Haasts Bluff, where she grew up, and Karrkurrutintja (Lake McDonald) on the Western Australia/Northern Territory border - an important site of the Pilkati (snake) Tjukurrpa of Kaniya Kutjarra (two carpet snakes, two brothers). This story was passed down through her grandmother Narputta Nangala Jugadai and mother Molly Jugadai, both founding members of Ikuntji Artists.
"The rocks I paint are my own story. I like to paint; painting helps me forget my troubles. My grandmother used to say to me when I was younger: 'One day you will paint.'"
