Ikuntji Artists is proud to be part of Parrtjima - A Festival in Light 2026, joining The Language of Textiles, a collaborative installation led by artist Nina Fitzgerald exploring how language is carried across Central Desert communities.
Created alongside Yarrenyty Arltere Artists, Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artists and Papunya Tjupi Arts, the installation reflects language as something expressed not only through words, but through pattern, colour and making. Ikuntji artist Keturah Zimran OAM is among those featured, with her Puli Puli design translating stories of Country into textile form.
Presented within the landscape of Mparntwe, the installation invites audiences to experience language visually - through light, fabric and story.
Held in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) from 10–19 April 2026, Parrtjima is a free event that brings together light, landscape and culture on Country. For further information visit https://parrtjimaaustralia.com.au/installations/the-language-of-textiles
